Robert Roman

Chaplain of Aftercare
I am a graduate of the Colony of Mercy, 2003. After having been employed for four years as an addiction counselor/ career development facilitator at a group home for boys in New York, and finding out I no longer had a job I began to pray and seek God’s direction for this next season of my life.
While participating in the Families for Christ ministry as a graduate, I would always share my prayer request and the difficulties I was having obtaining employment. I shared my experiences and what I was qualified and credentialed in. Upon completion of my family covenant, I was offered a position on staff as a lifeguard at America’s KESWICK. This was never my hearts desire, although I was a certified lifeguard. I accepted the position but always kept reminding the Lord of my desire to be a part of the addiction ministry. Eleven months after coming on board, first as a lifeguard and then as the Director of the Activity Center, the Lord honored my request and gave me the desire of my heart. I was offered a position as a chaplain at the Colony. Oddly enough at the same time that I was offered the position, I was also informed of my Ordination into the ministry of the Gospel.
In the spring of 2005, I was ordained as a minister and hired as a Chaplain. Two years after coming into the Colony of Mercy I had come full circle.
My wife, Sandra, was also offered a position at America’s KESWICK and that is where we find ourselves today. Missionaries sent out from Yonkers, New York to the pinelands of New Jersey for a season.
